Size: Organic creamed coconut from the Philippines in 500 ml glass jars.
This is 100% pure coconut meat made from unsweetened dehydrated fresh meat of a mature coconut ground to a semi-solid white creamy paste. As it’s in a concentrated form, you can make coconut cream or coconut milk by adding back hot water. As it has a hint of sweetness, it’s delicious eaten straight.
The texture is almost like chocolate without the obvious sweet taste. We love to scrape some with a fork and mix it in yoghurt. It’s a real treat and we almost fight over it. Also great in desserts, curry, soups and sauces.
Instructions for mixing your creamed Coconut
Creamed coconut comes in two layers; the white oil layer at the top and the solid yellowish layer at the bottom. (Can you tell from the photo above?) You need to mix the layers back together before use. We put the whole jar in a bowl of warm water until the content softens, and then put a handheld mixer inside the jar. You can also do the mixing with a knife or fork. You can also scrape out of the jar, put it all in a food processor, and “zizz till smooth” as Zenian put it.
The taste of this concentrated creamed coconut is in a class of its own. If you’ve tried tinned coconut cream, coconut milk or coconut water before, when you try this creamed coconut from the jar, you’d probably be pleasantly surprised. It’s never been easier to increase your daily coconut intake using this delicious “treat.” But beware; it’s addictive 😉

The instructions for use include submerging the jar in hot water, which melts the label right off! (Instructions and ingredients are lost from label!)

Recipe: Creamed coconut wooberrie mix
3 -4 generous dsps creamed coconut
150ml – 200ml cream
½ cup frozen blueberries or more according to taste
2 egg yolks
Avocado and / or banana for creamy texture
Vanilla to taste
It turns out like a healthy version of a soft serve from Mr Whippy only hugely better. The frozen blueberries create little bits of creamed coconut chip in a creamy mixture of the cream/avocado
Homemade Coconut Cream/Coconut Milk
Zenian Creamed Coconut is concentrated and solid. By adding water, you can make your own substitute for canned coconut cream or milk without the additives. Here’s how:
After mixing back the two layers in the jar as above, put 1-4 tablespoons of Creamed Coconut to 1/2 cup of hot water according to your taste. Mix together well, and that’s all!
