Organic, unrefined, cold-pressed and slightly fermented using a centrifuged process to create a raw virgin coconut oil with a extra light smell and taste.
This is extra light in terms of smell and taste
In a normal shop environment, anything “Extra light” usually means it is processed to death. Not so with this oil. Zenian have come up with a unique process, which preserved the goodness, but dulls coconut taste and smell of by lightly fermenting the oil.
This oil is not RBD
- not refined
- not deodorised
- not bleached
Unlike RBD (refined, bleached and deodorised) oils, this oil has all the natural goodness of raw unrefined virgin coconut oil still intact, owing to its unique manufacturing process. Just like the Fully Fermented range, this oil is only heated up to 40-50 degrees Celsius.
So what makes it special?
It is the only slightly fermented centrifuged process oil in New Zealand, perhaps, the world. It is:
- Cold pressed (cold process)
- Centrifuged (fast processing to retain freshness)
- Slightly fermented – fermentation is a gut friendly process to help the body more easily create laurice acid, something mother’s milk has in it
- Very light taste and aroma of coconut
This oil meets the criteria for low taste and low smell for people who find coconut oil difficult to eat and drink.
The oil is bright white in a solid state. Is it bleached?
Virgin Coconut Oil is bright white in a solid state. This is normal. But the colour can vary too. The photo above makes the oil look yellow. It is just the photo.
The oil can have a grayish look about it, almost translucent, near the bottom of a pail or a jar. This is also normal. One Australian brand from the Islands has a more gray look about it. But being gray it is not a sign of superiority.
Some oils have a little bit of sediment in the oil. This is also normal for unfiltered oil, especially the fermented only oil, which has less handling than centrifuged oil.
